Exclusive Trades is a fixed price company meaning you pay for the result of our actions, not the amount of time it takes us to achieve that result.
Our price for a standard plumbing appointment is £187.00, however you will only be required to make an initial payment of £47.00 when you make your appointment.
This £47.00 is our 'Plumbing Diagnostic Fee' which covers our costs to attend your property, diagnose the problem and provide you with 'Fixed Price' options to allow you to decide how you would like your problem solved.
For this example we will assume we are called to a leak from a pipe under a kitchen sink and the leak is found to be from where the water supply pipe connects to the tap.
In this situation we may offer you the following three repair options.
Option One: Re-seal the pipe connection.
Option Two: Upgrade the supply pipes to the tap with isolation valves so that you can isolate the water supply to the tap in the future.
Option Three: Replace the kitchen tap and upgrade the supply pipes.
Having provided you with the options, if you decide you would like to proceed with option three, we will take payments via Chip & Pin for the purchase and installation of the materials and proceed with this work.
If on the other hand you choose option one, we will take a payment of £140 and then complete this work straight away.
(£47 paid when making the appointment + £140 at your property = £187, which is the 'Fixed Price' for one of our standard appointments.)
In the event you decided not to proceed with any of the options, there would not be any additional charges. (I once had a similar situation where the client decided not to proceed with any repairs at that time and to simply put the money towards a complete new kitchen which would come with new supply pipes & taps.)
Having diagnosed the fault, we will not proceed with any repairs without your prior approval/payment for the service.

Essentially we will either do the work correctly, or not at all. Consequently, we will never be the cheapest company because there will always be someone else willing to 'Forget' certain regulations in order to offer a cheaper price.
The second reason is due to the significant investments we continue to make in advanced training to cover all aspects of the work we undertake. Whether it's Plumbing, Heating or Gas related, the goal for the company is to be able to provide our clients with the best service and advice possible, which means it is essential to keep up to date with the latest technology and regulations.
However, as the cost of this ongoing training needs to be recuperated, our fees will be higher than other companies that do not undertake this optional training.

No, replacement parts are an additional cost which will vary significantly depending on your specific problem.
We charge £187.00 for each appointment in our daily schedule, however Plumbing is one of the services where we provide an initial diagnostic service for £47.00, which covers the attendance to your property and the initial assessment of the problem.
Having arrived at your property and assessed the problem, if the work is something we can complete within one appointment (as the majority of small plumbing tasks can be), we will take an additional payment of £140.00 to complete the work. (£47.00 paid online when making your appointment + £1400.00 whilst at your property = £187.00, which is our standard appointment fee.)
Any materials that will be required to complete the work will be an additional cost and will depend on your specific problem.
If the work is extensive and will take longer than one of our appointments, we will be able to provide you with a fixed price for a solution to your problem.
Having offered a solution to your problem, if for any reason you decide not to proceed with the work, there will be nothing more to pay as you will have only used our diagnostic service.
Funding for any repairs/installations is not a service we offer.
